The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Fellowship is a
one-year training program preceded by a mandatory ACGME or equivalent accredited diagnostic radiology residency. The position begins on July
1st and ends on June 30th, coinciding with the academic year.
The goal of the MRI fellowship program is to provide training and experience in all aspects of MRI, including brain, neck, spine, cardiovascular, body, musculoskeletal and breast imaging. The objective of the program is to provide training in routine and state-of-the-art MRI procedures applied to all organ systems. This is an integrated program aimed at providing the fellow with the knowledge and skills necessary to direct an MRI center in either a community or academic practice. The training program will provide the fellow with the opportunity to develop, under supervision, progressively independent skills in the performance and interpretation of magnetic resonance imaging studies. At the culmination of training, the fellow should be capable of independent and accurate clinical decision making in all aspects of magnetic resonance imaging. We offer an environment that encourages the interchange of knowledge and experience among fellows and faculty in the program and with residents, fellows and faculty in other major clinical specialties throughout the hospital.
Applicants are asked to submit up-to-date curriculum vitae and 3 letters of recommendation. The information is then evaluated and it is decided which applicants to invite for an interview. At the time of the interview, the applicants meet with the director of the program, the chairman of the department, representative faculty and the fellows.
