Rotations
Each rotation is a four week block of time. The
first six rotations in the first year of residency
consist of rotations that are considered core
services, because these rotations offer a
broad exposure to topics in our curriculum,
initiating training and experience in the major
imaging modalities and preparing a resident
for general on-call duties. These rotations
include the thoracic, abdominal, ultrasound,
musculoskeletal, neuroradiologic, and nuclear
medicine services. In general, we attempt to arrive
at the following distribution over four years: abdomen
- 4 rotations, chest - 5 rotations, ultrasound - 3.5 rotations, musculo- skeletal - 4 rotations, neuroradiology - 5 rotations, nuclear medicine - 5 rotations, mammography - 3.5 rotations, pediatrics - 3 rotations, angiography - 4 rotations (includes coronary angiography), OB ultrasound - 1 rotation, pathology (AFIP) - 1.0 months, cardiac - 2-4 weeks, research - 5 rotations, emergency - 2.25 rotations, night float (call) - 2.25 rotations, elective - 2 rotations.
(There is a $1000 Stipend for the 4 week AFIP rotation in Washington, D.C.)
