The Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at The Ohio State University provides rigorous training in both clinical medicine and basic science research leading to both MD and PhD degrees. The program is designed to recruit, train and nurture physician-scientists who will become leaders in the health professions.
The MSTP has worked closely with the medical school and graduate school leadership to develop the unique LSI3 curriculum specifically for MSTP students. Students can choose to enter one of our three core programs: Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program, Neuroscience Graduate Studies Program or Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program. We also offer the option of pursuing a PhD in one of our many affiliate PhD programs, such as biophysics, chemistry, health and rehabilitation sciences, microbiology and public health.
Admission to the MSTP program must be made through the American Medical College Applications Service (AMCAS) beginning June 1 through November 1 of the year prior to anticipated matriculation.
