Alumni and friends of the College of Medicine may contribute online instantly to the following funds:
College of Medicine Annual Fund
The COM Annual Fund evolved in fall 2005 after merging two previous annual funds together into one – Caduceus Club and Order of Hippocrates. M
D and resident alumni from the College of Medicine now receive annual solicitations for just the one new fund, with contributions being distributed under the two previous funds of Caduceus and Order of Hippocrates. A portion of these funds support programs, services and activities sponsored by the Medical Center Alumni Affairs Office, including the annual alumni reunion weekend, regional alumni receptions, student/alumni forums, and CME sponsorship. Another portion of the annual fund goes to the Dean’s discretionary account, which is used for special initiatives related to research, education and/or clinical work.
College of Medicine Dean's Scholarship
Because Dean Charly Lockwood understand the importance of student scholarships, he has made a lead gift of $10,000 to create the Dean's Scholarship Fund at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. With the average debt of our graduating students at $150,000, not including undergraduate loans, scholarships can make a big difference in decreasing students' financial burden. Dean Lockwood recognizes this great need, and encourages all alumni to join him in supporting the physicians of tomorrow.
OSU Medical Alumni Society Merit Scholarship Endowment
The OSU Medical Alumni Society Merit Scholarship Endowment was started in 2004 with a collective group of existing, small, inactive, under-endowed funds relating to student scholarship. Many of these funds were initiated by medical alumni, so it seemed only appropriate to name the new, fully endowed fund in honor of OSU medical alumni. Each year, the revenue generated by this endowment is distributed to an outstanding entering student, based on academic achievement and financial need.
Ohio State University Medical Center
The Ohio State University Medical Center offers one of the most comprehensive health sciences campuses in the United States. It lives its three-part mission every day - research, patient care and education. To drive future success in all three mission areas, it has identified a portfolio of key areas which include, but are not limited to, cancer care and research, diabetes, heart and scholarship education.
