Student to Student

Coordinators:

Catherine Sinclair (webmail: sinclair.48@osu.edu)

The Student to Student program is sponsored by the Ohio State University College of Medicine Chapter of The American Medical Association.  The primary purpose of the program is to increase the health awareness of students that attend elementary, middle and high schools in close proximity to the Ohio State College of Medicine.  The medical students visit the schools and discuss various topics.  These topics include:

  • Healthy Lifestyles
  • First Aid
  • The Human Body
  • Exercise
  • Eye Care
  • Sexual Awareness
  • The dangers of Alcohol, Drug Abuse, and Smoking
  • Societal violence

The medical students also discuss the steps one has to take in order to become a doctor.  The program is a learning experience for both sets of students – health awareness is raised in the elementary, middle, and high school students, and the medical students, in turn, hone their teaching skills.
