The American Medical Student Association (AMSA), with a 55 year history of medical student activism, is the oldest and largest independent association of physicians-in-training in the United States. With a membership of nearly 50,000 medical and pre-medical students from a cross the country and abroad, AMSA continues its commitment to improving medical training and the nation's health in the 21st century.
When you join AMSA, you become part of a vital force of future physicians who believe that health professionals and patients are partners in the management and maintenance of health, and that access to high-quality health care is a right and not a privilege. At AMSA, activism is a way of life. Student idealism is transformed into meaningful public service, innovation and institutional change.
At Ohio State, we have a strong reputation as one of the largest and most active chapters in the country. Every year we provide valuable student services including a used book sale, an instrument sale, and residency fairs. We also give students an opportunity to get involved. Some of our recent advocacy and educational projects have focused on health care access, AIDS, and National Primary Care Week.
We hope to continue the strong AMSA tradition at OSU with help from YOU! Join today and begin transforming the culture of medicine on a local and national level.
