International Health Interest Group

This is one of the strongest interest groups at Ohio State.  Every year, the IHIG sends students abroad for summer medical/cultural experiences. This group assists students in finding an appropriate program and raises funds to alleviate travel costs.  Students have gone to Peru, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Bolivia, IndiaSwazilandChina, Guatemala, Nepal, Spain, and Indonesia among others.  The student led trip to Swaziland was created in 2003 in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program to give students valuable experience in public health and AIDS work in Sub-Saharan Africa.
