Welcome to the Biomedical Science webpage! Ohio State's College of Medicine is proud to be one of only two medical schools in the country to offer an undergraduate major in Biomedical Science. This exciting new undergraduate program has been created for high ability students who are eligible for Ohio State's honors program, and who have an interest in conducting medical research and studying human disease. Up to twenty-five incoming honors freshman are admitted into the Biomedical Science major each year. Our goal is to give you a strong science background and involve you in cutting edge biomedical research that will put you in a good positon for entering a graduate program in medical research, medicine, dentistry, or just about any other area of healthcare. While all students in the major work in a research lab for at least one school year, you have the option of expanding this experience for up to all four years of your undergraduate career. While you learn the basics, you will also build your skills working in teams, exercising your leadership abilities, and advancing your written and oral communication skills. We want our graduates to have a strong set of skills which will benefit them in whatever career they choose to pursue.
