3rd Year Medical Students work on advancing their blood drawing skills in the Procedures Laboratory portion of the Center. |
The design for the center, located in 005 John Prior Health Sciences Library, includes:
- 8,100 square feet
- 14 patient encounter rooms, equipped with ceiling-mounted cameras
- High technology simulators and equipment
- Procedures training area
- Wireless environment allowing ready access for PDA’s and laptops
- Digital recording systems
- Standardized Patient lounge area
- Swipe card system to identify trainee and initiate audio-video operations
- Electronic monitoring stations with touch panel function
- One-way glass panel and headset outside each exam room
- On-site and off-site observation of trainee patient encounters
- Administrative Offices
