Visitech Infinity3 2D-Array Live Cell Imaging Confocal Microscope
- Installed this summer in our new Biomedical Researh Tower Facility

This new 2D-array live cell imaging platform features multi-point confocal scanning with low photo-bleaching and high-speed image acquisition. This new technology compares favorably with the competing spinning disc confocal technology. The ability to vary pinhole size allows all objectives to be used to obtain live cell confocal images.

The instrument features a highly sensitive Hamamatsu camera, and software, lasers and dichroics for FRET. Cultured cells as well as tissue slices may be observed. The stage allows heating, gas control and automated X and Y control. Z focusing is obtained with the objective piezo drive and the microscope Z focus. The objective may also be heated.

The instrument is currently being tested on the upright microscope.
We are planning on testing the system on the Inverted scope once we receive a new air table
which has been ordered.
