Carmen Login Instructions

Logging In

1. Go to http://carmen.osu.edu.
2. Use your Ohio State University Internet username (lastname.#) and password.

Finding Your Course Websites

1. Log into Carmen (as described above).
2. Click the + beside the current quarter in your My Courses list .
   • College of Medicine Courses can be found in Summer 2006.
3. Then click the + beside each department
   name to show links to your Carmen course websites.

Getting Help

• Please let your program coordinator know if your are having difficulty.
  • For password issues contact OIT Technology Support Center Help Desk:
    8help@osu.edu8help@osu.edu or 688-HELP (4357).
  • Online help: Click Help in the top right navigation bar to access Carmen
    documentation. Online hints within Carmen: The left-hand side of many screens
    contain instructions for using the currently-selected feature. Systems status page: Obtain notifications regarding the status of Carmen.

Important Tips

• If you access Carmen from a public workstation, don’t forget to Logout (top right of your screen). Then you MUST quit your web browser to prevent unauthorized use of your Carmen account.
• Recommended web browsers:
  • Mac: Netscape Navigator 7.2 or Mozilla 1.7*
  • Windows: Internet Explorer 6.0, Netscape Navigator 7.2, or Mozilla 1.7
    *available from www.mozilla.org
• Make sure that pop-up windows are enabled.
• Go to http://telr.osu.edu/carmen/stu for more tips.

Username:

• Is defined as your unique OSU Internet username (e.g., buckeye.1).
• Should be entered in ALL lowercase letters.
• Must INCLUDE the "." [period] contained in your username.
• Should NOT contain "...@osu.edu"

Password:

• Is the same password used to access other University services, such as e-mail and the University Registrar.
