Marc Tassé, PhD, returns to Ohio State this month to direct The Nisonger Center. Tassé, who was associate professor of child and Family Studies and associate director of the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities at the University of South Florida, completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Ohio State in 1995. Tasse served on the psychology faculty of the Université du Québec à Montréal and the psychiatry faculty of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Richard Gumina, MD, PhD, Cardiovascular Medicine, has been named director of Interventional Cardiovascular Research. In this role, Gumina oversees more than 20 clinical trials supported by the Cardiovascular Clinical and Translational Research Organization, and multiple investigator-initiated clinical, translational and basic research thematics in Interventional Cardiology.

Steven Severyn, MD, MBA, director of Pain Services in the Department of Anesthesiology, was recently promoted to Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. Col. Severyn, who commands the 801st Combat Support Hospital, Ft. Sheridan, IL, has served in both Afghanistan and Iraq. He has been decorated with the Bronze Star Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal.

Quinn Capers, IV, MD, has been appointed associate dean for admissions. In this role, Capers will provide strategic direction and leadership for all activities of the Office of Admissions to include overseeing the recruitment, application and admissions process for the 4,500 annual applicants to the College of Medicine. Capers, an interventional cardiologist and director of peripheral vascular interventions in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, will continue with clinical and teaching activities.

Amanda Termuhlen, MD, is one of 53 senior faculty members from around the country selected for the class of fellows for the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine program for women at Drexel University College of Medicine. The program is the only one of its type for preparing senior women faculty for leadership at academic health centers. She is the associate chief of pediatric hematology/oncology/blood and marrow transplantation at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and a professor of clinical pediatrics at Ohio State.
