Richard White, MD, has been
selected to Chair the Department of Radiology and direct the Imaging
Signature Program. Dr. White comes to Ohio State from the University of
Florida College of Medicine, Jacksonville. Prior to that, from
1989-2006, Dr. White directed the cardiovascular MRI and CT programs at
the Cleveland Clinic and was on the faculty of the College of Medicine
through Ohio State's affiliation with the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. White
earned his medical degree at Duke University. He completed residencies
in Internal Medicine and Radiology, and a National Institute of Health
fellowship in Cardiovascular Imaging at the University of California,
San Francisco Hospitals. He also completed a Sarnoff post-graduate
research fellowship in cardiovascular research at Duke.
Timothy Hewett, PhD, has been
selected to serve as the Director of Research for Ohio State's Sports
Medicine Institute. Dr. Hewett has also been appointed Professor of
Physiology and Cell Biology. He will be responsible for the oversight
and coordination of the multi-disciplinary research program, as well as
the development of strategic Sports Medicine priorities. Dr. Hewett
joins the faculty from Cincinnati Children's Hospital where he served as
director of the Sports Medicine Biodynamics Center. He is nationally
recognized for his work in the area of knee injury prevention in female
athletes.
