Faculty Development Programs

The Center for Education and Scholarship coordinates faculty development activities which promote and develop skills that enhance the quality of health sciences education:  Activities are designed to assist in the development of outstanding teachers, curriculum leaders, and educational scholars.

Faculty Teaching Scholars Program

The Faculty Teaching Scholars Program (FTSP) couples work on Teaching Skills, and Leadership Training with Scholarship training and a project.  Topics include common research methods for educational scholars, IRB issues for medical education research, survey strategies, statistics, and effective workshops, poster and podium presentations.

Teaching Skills Series

Teaching skills workshop topics include feedback, evaluation, effective questioning skills, dealing with problem learners, and use of educational technology tools. Recordings of past workshops are available online.

 
The Center for Education and Scholarship offers Teaching Skills workshops and Educational Technology training for Medical Educators in preparation for the new Lead.Serve.Inspire Curriculum by request.   Help Guides are also available.
