Suggestions to Navigate Deadlines - the College encourages flexibility throughout the promotion and tenure process. This document describes a circumstance in which it would be appropriate for a department to seek late submission of a candidate's dossier, and conditionally approve a candidate to proceed with promotion while waiting for one key component to be achieved. In order to exercise this flexibility, departments must be realistic about the impact of the missing factor in relation to the candidate's total dossier. Departments should discuss these cases in advance with the College office.
