New Faculty Orientation is held quarterly in 234 Meiling Hall.
The next session will be May 4, 2012 from 12:00-5:00pm in 234 Meiling Hall.
The purpose of this orientation is to introduce you to the resources and tools that you will need to be successful in your faculty careers. Leaders within the Center for Faculty Advancement, Mentoring and Engagement (FAME) will provide you with an overview of resources for the development of:
--leadership
--clinical skills
--teaching skills, including an introduction to the new curriculum
--work-life balance
The session will also cover introductory research skills, including library resources, applying for and managing grants, and an overview of clinical and translational science. You will learn how invenestment in these areas pays off for faculty promotion.
Please note that this orientation does differ from new physician orientation, held monthly by the Medical Affairs Office.
