Research Interests
We are interested in understanding the molecular basis of how cellular systems work at the nanoscale, with a focus on the role of myosin motor proteins and the actomyosin cytoskeleton. More specifically, we quantitatively describe the role myosins play in human health and disease by the identification, in vitro reconstitution, and characterization of their dynamic macromolecular complexes. To accomplish this, we are combining approaches from a variety of disciplines including biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology and high-resolution imaging techniques.
