Admission with Advanced Standing

Admissions > Admission with Advanced Standing

Under exceptional and compassionate circumstances, students with advanced standing are considered for transfer from schools accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. Transfer is rarely considered for applicants matriculating at times other than into the third year of the curriculum. The following requirements must be met:

  1. The Associate Dean for Student Affairs of the medical school which the applicant attended must submit a letter summarizing the credentials of the applicant;
  2. The student must be in good standing and currently enrolled in an LCME accredited, MD granting institution in the United States;
  3. The student must submit a copy of their AMCAS application and MCAT test scores;
  4. The student must present an official copy of their USMLE Step 1 Passing score.

Applicants with unsatisfactory records or dismissal from medical school for any reason are not accepted for admission at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.  The application deadline is March 15.

If you meet the criteria above, contact the Admissions Office for the application.
