Visiting and International Students

The  Ohio State University College of Medicine accepts applications for electives through the Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS) offered by the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC).  To apply, please complete and submit the electronic VSAS applicaton.
Students and Researcher
Ohio State will begin accepting applications March 15th of 2009.  We will begin processing received applications May 1, 2009.  Notification of an accepted elective will not be sent until after May 1st, 2009.

You may search the VSAS Electives Catalog for more information about course offerings.

Osteopathic Medical Students in good standing who are pursing a D.O. degree from a school accredited by the Education Department of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) can Link Here to Requirements and Application Materials.

International students can apply through the Office of Global Health Education website. Rotations are limited to students from affiliated institutions.  



US/Canada Visiting Students



At least 8 WEEKS PRIOR to the start of the rotation submit your application via 
VSAS

Applications will be processed in a timely manner beginning May 1, 2009. 

Within 1 week from the date your acceptance notification is sent, the following additional items must be received (further instructions included in acceptance email):


At least 4 WEEKS PRIOR to the start of the rotation, the following items must be received (further instructions included in acceptance email):

  • ACLS Card (copy or proof that the student has completed training)
  • OSU HIPAA Assessment
  • Toxicology Screen 10 Panel (have results faxed to us at 614-292-0745)
    • THC
    • Cocaine and Metabolites
    • Amphetamine/Methamphetamine
    • Benzodiazpines
    • Opiates
    • Methadone
    • Methaqualone
    • PCP
    • Propoxyphene
    • Barbiturates
