Global Health Electives

Many global health opportunities exist for fourth-year medical students at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. If you would like to apply for credit and funding to do a Global Health Elective(GHE) during the 2008-2009 academic year, please review the documents listed below and submit your completed application to the Office of Global Health Education.

Our office has compiled a list of international contacts based on electives done by students in past years.

Global Health Elective Report
Each student participating in a GHE is required to submit a report of their experience.

Evaluation
Each student who does a GHE is responsible for taking the evaluation form to the rotation and returning the evaluation to the OGHE, who will then complete a grade card.  The evaluation must be returned via hand-delivery, fax, mail, or email (a scanned copy) to the OGHE within two-weeks of completing the GHE.

Current Travel Warnings
Electives will not be approved for countries listed on the "Current Travel Warnings" issued by the U.S. Department of State. Travel to the country must also be safe as determined by the OGHE.
