September 2006  issue

The Lung Volume Reduction Surgery Program at the Ohio State University Medical Center recently became the first in the country to earn a certificate of distinction from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The certificate was awarded based on emphysema treatment research and demonstrated expertise in performing LVRS. Shown on the cover and featured in the story are Dr. Patrick Ross and Dr. Philip Diaz, co-directors and founders of the LVRS program.
