MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of our Department, part of the
College of Medicine, has three components:

1. Research in the fields of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

2. Teaching the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology curriculum of the Medical, Dental and Allied Health Programs.

3. Service to the university, national and international scientific communities.

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Dr. Lloyd Horrocks, Professor Emeritus on August 18, 2007.

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Dr. Gerald Brierley, Professor Emeritus on October 22, 2006.

Note: The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry was formerly the Department of Medical Biochemistry.
