Kei Koizumi is a leading authority on the federal budget, federal support for research and development, science policy issues, and research and development (R&D) funding data. He serves as the assistant director for federal R&D in the Office of Science and Technology Policy, a position he has held since February 2009.
He previously served as the principal budget analyst, editor, and writer for the annual American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) reports on federal R&D. He has been widely quoted in the general and trade press on federal science funding issues.
Koizumi received his MA from the Center for International Science, Technology, and Public Policy program at GeorgeWashington University and his BA in Political Science and Economics from Boston University.
