Robert Higgins, MD, has joined the OSU College of Medicine as Professor of Surgery and will serve as the John H. and Mildred C. Lumley Medical Research Chair. He has also been named director of the Comprehensive Transplant Center, the Medical Center’s Transplant Signature Program and the Division of Cardiac Surgery. Prior to his appointment, Dr. Higgins led the department of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgery at Rush University in Chicago for seven years and served as chair of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia from 1999 until 2003.
