Allan Yates, MD, PhD, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Pathology, passed away August 4 while on vacation off the coast of Greenland.
Dr. Yates joined the faculty in 1975 and had a long and distinguished career in the College of Medicine. He was a renowned academic neuropathologist widely respected for his diagnostic acumen and for his NIH-funded research into the pathobiology of brain cancer. Dr. Yates also led the creation of Ohio State's innovative Integrated Biomedical Science Graduate Program (IBGP).
Dr. Yates is survived by his wife, Charlotte, his sons Robert and Brian, and his daughter-in-law Nicole.
A memorial service is being planned. Details will be posted in due course.
