American science writer Gary Taubes, author of Good Calories, Bad Calories: Challenging the Conventional Wisdom on Diet, Weight Control, and Disease, will speak on Wednesday, December 1, from 10 until 11:30 a.m. in Room 165 of the Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute. Taubes will discuss many common myths in medicine, including the correlation between cholesterol and heart disease and exercise and weight loss.
