Award-winning journalist Gary Taubes is scheduled to speak on OSU main campus April 12 from 1:00 until 2:30 pm at the Ohio Union, U.S. Bank Conference Theater (Ground Floor). The author of Why We Get Fat And What To Do About It will talk about the correlation between cholesterol and heart disease, exercise and weight loss in a presentation titled, "Good Calories, Bad Calories: Challenging the Conventional, Wisdom on Diet, Weight Control, and Disease."
Gary Taubes is a contributing correspondent for the journal Science and a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Independent Investigator at the University of California at Berkeley's School of Public Health. Taubes has won numerous awards for his journalism, including the International Health Reporting Award from the Pan American Health Organization and the National Association of Science Writers Science in Society Journalism Award.
