While most high schoolers are spending their summers relaxing by the pool or traveling with friends and family, 30 dedicated local high school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates will be participating in an intensive three week camp at The Ohio State University. This program is open to students who are interested in pursuing health science careers and who come from a race/ethnicity that is underrepresented in medicine. MD Camp aims to encourage underrepresented students to pursue careers in medicine and to practice in underserved communities.
While at camp, these students will tour the medical campus, participate in a White Coat Ceremony, shadow practitioners, and attend a career fair. They will study anatomy, relevant disease, patient interaction, and clinical skills.
