Former Ohio State Emergency Room resident and College of Medicine graduate, Steven J. Stack, MD, has recently been elected as the American Medical Association (AMA) chair-elect. Having been with the AMA since 2006, Dr. Stack will continue his service with a three-year term as the Chair-elect. As the first emergency medicine board-certified physician appointed to the AMA Board of Trustees, Dr. Stack served as chair of the Compensation Committee, the Awards and Nominations Committee, the Strategic Communications Committee and also the AMA Health Information Technology Advisory Group. Dr. Stack is also the first emergency medicine physician to serve as the AMA chair-elect.
Currently residing in Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Stack is the emergency department medical director at St. Joseph’s Hospital East. He continues his work as a staffed physician practicing emergency medicine at a number of rural eastern and central Kentucky hospitals.
