Arguably, the most exciting event for a first year medical student is the White Coat Ceremony-- the event at which first year medical students receive their white coats symbolizing their entrance and commitment to medicine. This year's event will be held Monday, August 8 in Mershon Auditorium.
At The Ohio State University College of Medicine, individuals have the opportunity to sponsor one or more white coats to be given to Med I students. In its second year, the White Coat Sponsorship Program has raised approximately $37,000. Donations for the 2011 White Coat Sponsorship have exceeded expectations with a total of 280
donors.
