About Continuing Medical Education (CME)

OSU's community preceptors receive documentation annually of their teaching contact hours. This letter provides the information needed for physicians to request and receive CME hours from Category II AMA or AOA Category I-B. A variety of opportunities for Category I and I-A are made available through the OSU Center for Continuing Medical Education (CCME). Among them are the web-based programs that can either be viewed live or by using the convenient video-on-demand option. All active OSU preceptors have access to the online CME at no charge. Click here for instructions.

The Center for Continuing Medical Education

CCME at The Ohio State University Medical Center was founded in 1962. The staff are dedicated through a rich and innovative tradition to providing high quality continuing medical education to physicians and other healthcare professionals in order to facilitate the delivery of better and enhanced patient care and outcomes.

The Ohio State University Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Educations (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The Ohio State University Medical Center designates CME educational activity on an hour per hour basis in Category 1 credit toward the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician’s Recognition Award.
