Who should see a Physiatrist?

Physiatrists see a variety of patients from young to old. Some of the conditions that Physiatrists manage include work injuries, low back pain, radiculopathies, carpal tunnel syndrome, sports injuries, strokes, brain injuries, amputations, spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, post-polio syndrome, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and many others. The connecting thread is that these cause functional (or disabling) problems for the affected person.
