The rotation schedule is modified for residents with these career goals. Combine general and child and adolescent subspecialty training is also available through five-year and six-year pathway.
The clinical experiences are flexible and designed to meet the individual resident's educational needs. For example, pathways are available to meet Doctor of Osteopathy requisite training, research integration, advanced psychotherapy training, etc.
Residents participate in outpatient experiences at hospital-based and community sites during the second, third, and fourth years. Our affiliated sites include the Veterans Administration and Twin Valley Psychiatric System.
There are three fellowship opportunities at OSU available to psychiatry residents. The Department of Psychiatry offers fellowship training in child & adolescent psychiatry. In addition, fellowship opportunities are offered in sleep medicine and in pain and palliative medicine through the OSU Departments of Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology, respectively.
