Also known as the Biomedical Structural, Functional and Molecular Imaging Enterprise, this is a powerful enterprise of three lead partners, The Ohio State University (OSU), Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and Cleveland, Ohio based Philips Medical Systems (PMS) to leapfrog biomedical imaging as a key enabling technology in the State of Ohio for biomedical research and medical care. Imaging can non-invasively provide three-dimensional, structural, functional and molecular information in living matter, from cell to animal to human. The Enterprise mission is to leverage and advance existing imaging resources, from the small animal imaging within the existing Ohio Cellular and Molecular Imaging Consortium (OCMIC) to the first in the world prototype 8T human MR at OSU and to explore new frontiers such as mobile facilities, remote access and imaging associated with biohazards. Furthermore, it will close the missing link to bring these advanced capabilities into medical, human application by jointly developing a clinical ultra high field MR system (7T) for the global market which subsequently will be manufactured in Ohio's facilities.

The Wright Center of Innovation in Biomedical Imaging is located at:
2050 Kenny Road (east side of the OSU Outpatient Services Center)
Columbus, OH 43210
