Jeffrey Auletta Joins Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University's Center for Regenerative Medicine and Cell Based Therapies

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey Auletta, M.D. as the Director of the new Host Defense Program. Dr. Auletta's primary appointment will be to the Division of Hematology/Oncology/BMT with a joint appointment to the Division of Infectious Diseases as he is dual-boarded in these subspecialties. The Host Defense Program is a new program our divisions are jointly establishing to study and care for infectious disease issues in immunocompromised patients. He will lead the scientific efforts within that program by developing clinical trials and work to recruit a laboratory-based scientific collaborator, and he will work closely with Dr. Monica Ardura to expand and solidify her cross-disciplinary clinical service for these patients. He will also attend on the BMT service and on this newly forming infectious diseases service. Dr. Auletta comes to us from University Hospitals Case Medical Center / Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland where he is an Associate Professor and an attending physician on both the pediatric and adult BMT services. He received his Bachelor degree from Northwestern University and his M.D. from Case Western Research University School of Medicine. He started on December 3, 2012.
