The Department of Health & Human Services published on August 25, 2011 the
Final Rule revising Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) regulations. The changes from the 1995 regulations focus on investigators’ disclosure requirements of Significant Financial Interests, Institutions’ reporting and management of identified Financial Conflicts of Interest, and public accessibility of information regarding certain Investigator Financial Conflicts of Interest.
Institutions must be in compliance one year from the publication of the rule. The Office of Research Compliance coordinates conflict of interest policies for the university, so watch their site for updates.
