Center for Microbial Interface Biology Research Retreat, September 8-9, 2011 

 

The Center for Microbial Interface Biology is hosting its fourth Research Retreat on Thursday and Friday (Sept 8-9, 2011). The Retreat showcases the research of faculty, research staff, and students from the OSU main campus, the Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC).  Session topics include immunological responses to pathogens as well as microbial and viral pathogenesis. Dr.  Henry Boom, Vice Chair for Research at the Department of Medicine, and Director of the Tuberculosis Research Unit at Case Western Reserve University, will present the keynote address, "Tuberculosis 2011: a global health problem requiring multidisciplinary and international research," on Thursday at 4:15pm.  Oral presentations will take place in 170 Davis Heart & Lung Research Institute (DHLRI); poster sessions in 115 Biomedical Research Tower (BRT).
