The Ohio State University Medical Center Sleep Disorders Center, along with the Center for Continuing Medical Education, present:
Sleep Update 2011: Sleep and Wellness in Shift Work, Friday, October 14, 2011, from 8:15 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the Ross Heart Hospital Auditorium.
The featured speaker is Helen Burgess, PhD, Rush University, Chicago. Dr. Burgess’ research examines the effects of bright light, melatonin, and short sleep lengths on circadian rhythms, sleep and mood.
Dr. Ulysses Magalang will discuss sleep deprived driving. Dr. Randy Nelson will discuss whether there is a relationship between shift work and weight gain. Dr. Meena Khan and Dr. Anessa Das will review advances in sleep medicine. Guest speaker Steve Bauman of Nationwide Insurance will present how industry addresses shift work, productivity and health concerns.
