2012 NIH Director's Early Independence Awards funding announcement released 

 

​NIH announces the release of the funding opportunity for the 2012 NIH Director's Early Independence Awards, which are designed for junior investigators wishing to “skip the post-doc” and immediately begin independent research. Eligible candidates must be within one year of receipt of terminal research degree or completion of clinical residency. All areas of research relevant to the mission of NIH are welcome. Budgets may be up to $250,000 in direct costs per year for up to five years.

Only two applications per institution are permitted. Notify Jeff Agnoli if you intend to apply for this opportunity by 11/28/2011. The OSU Office of Research is responsible for choosing the two OSU applications.
 
The deadline for submitting Early Independence Award applications is January 30, 2012 with Letters of Intent due by December 30, 2011
