Two working groups within the National Institute of Health's Advisory Committee to the Director presented draft reports with recommendations for improving the quality and diversity of the biomedical research workforce.

• The Biomedical Research Workforce Group analyzed workforce data and recommendations on how to prepare biomedical graduate students and postdocs, as well as how to create and maintain a skilled biomedical research workforce.
• The Working Group on Diversity in the Biomedical Research Workforce released recommendations for improving diversity of funded NIH investigators. ​
