The Ohio State University College of Medicine Office of Research as part of its Innovation Forum Series presents Drew Boyd, innovation expert and thought leader, with his talk, "Inside the Box: A Systematic Approach to Innovation."
Drew Boyd is a recognized authority, thought leader, educator and practitioner in the fields of persuasion, innovation and social media. Boyd retired from Johnson & Johnson (J&J) in 2010 after 17 years in marketing, mergers and acquisitions and international development. He founded and directed J&J's acclaimed Marketing Mastery Program where he taught employees how to systematically invent new medical products and integrate the inventions into long-range strategic plans. Boyd is an inventor himself, earning his first patent for a device that makes spine surgery easier. Boyd currently serves as the executive director of the Master of Science in Marketing Program and is an assistant professor of Marketing and Innovation at the University of Cincinnati.
Boyd’s presentation will offer a structured, step-by-step approach to innovation in the first hour and will lead participants through exercises that demonstrate how the methodology works during the second hour.
