The Student Clinician’s Ceremony to be held during ICM on Tuesday, June 3, will mark the transition of the Class of 2010 from the preclinical to the clinical years. The featured speaker is Dr. Souba. This is one of three signature programs offered to medical schools through the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. It joins the White Coat Ceremony and the Gold Humanism Honor Society induction in marking important transitions and encouraging student commitment to humanistic practice as future physicians.
Six residents will also be honored with the Gold Foundation’s Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award: Sarah Bonza, MD, Family Medicine; Julie Coffman, MD, Internal Medicine; Stacey Hindy Francis, MD, Surgery; Katharine Roxanne Grawe, MD, Surgery; Chris Karas, MD, Neurological Surgery; and Jeffrey Keyes, MD, Pediatrics. Nominated by our third- and fourth-year medical students, the recipients were selected for exhibiting particularly strong teaching skills and for serving as role models for compassionate, relationship-centered care.
