The first edition of the National Resident Matching Program's Charting Outcomes in the Match was published in July 2006 in response to requests from students and their advisors for data casting some light on how applicant qualifications affect match success. The recently released July 2007 version builds on the original study by adding two specialties now participating in the NRMP Main Residency Match (Otolaryngology and Neurology), incorporating several new measures, and conducting regression analyses to predict match success.
