Visiting Osteopathic Medical Student applications are accepted from students in good standing who are pursuing a D.O. degree from a school accredited by the Education Department of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). All applications must be submitted through VSAS.
All applications must be received at least 8 weeks prior to the start of the rotation you are applying for. Applications for the 2012-2013 academic year will be accepted according to the following schedule:
- Applications will be accepted beginning March 1st, 2012.
- Notification of accepted electives will be sent beginning May 1, 2012.
Within 1 week of the date your acceptance notification is sent, you must confirm your intent to participate in the available rotation and provide your SSN and DOB. Failure to submit these items in a timely manner may jeopardize your placement in a rotation.
At least 8 WEEKS PRIOR to the start of the rotation, submit the following:
- $75.00 application fee: Payable to Ohio State University; non-refundable
At least 4 WEEKS PRIOR to the start of the rotation, the following must be received:
- Copy of ACLS Card (proof that the student has completed training)
- OSU HIPAA Assessment: E-mailed to you in acceptance notification
- Toxicology Screen (10 Panel): results faxed to 614-292-0745
- THC
- Cocaine and Metabolites
- Amphetamine/Methamphetamine
- Benzodiazepines
- Opiates
- Methadone
- Methaqualone
- PCP
- Propoxyphene
- Barbiturates
