Welcome to the Technology Commercialization & Partnerships (TCP) initiative at The Ohio State University Medical Center. TCP offers training and education for Medical Center scientists who seek to document and disclose their innovations, patent their research and pursue licensing the rights to their discoveries. Such endeavors have significant impact for researchers and their sponsoring universities: In 2000 alone, surveyed universities reported 8,534 new patent applications, 38 new start-up companies, and $1.1 billion in licensing income. Our mission is to support that entrepreneurial spirit and achieve effective technology commercialization and partnerships that result in an increased stream of licensing and collaborative income, as well as national recognition for OSU Medical Center researchers, the OSU College of Medicine and Public Health, and the university.
