Industry Collaboration Symposium

Ohio State University Medical Center will open a state-of-the-art 14-story, 400,000-square-foot Biomedical Research Tower in December 2006. This brand-new facility will double the amount of biomedical research space on the Ohio State University campus. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we would like to invite you to attend our Industry Collaboration Symposium to tour this marvelous facility and to meet our faculty and researchers.

Exciting things are happening at Ohio State University Medical Center (OSUMC). Over the last five years, OSUMC has moved from number 44 to 32 in the US News & World Report’s Best Medical School ranking. From FY2001 to FY2006, OSUMC and its health sciences partners increased research expenditures from $98 million to $173 million – a 75% increase. Most importantly, OSUMC has an ambitious plan. We want to be among the top-tier academic medical center by 2008 and we are well on our way. In the next 10 years, OSUMC will spend more than $1 billion on capital improvement projects and more than $500 million on expansion of R&D operations.

The leadership and faculty of Ohio State University Medical Center value collaborative research opportunities with our industry partners as well as our colleagues in other academic research institutions. We are constantly seeking mutually beneficial approaches to develop, license, and commercialize our technologies and innovations. Our Industry Collaboration Symposium will

  • Showcase collaborative research and technology development opportunities
  • Provide networking opportunities with OSU researchers on the cutting edge of biomedical research
  • Provide a marketplace to explore, seek, and discuss technology licensing and clinical research opportunities
  • Preview future opportunities as OSUMC embarks on a fast growth trajectory

We hope that you will be able to join us for this event. The Ohio State University Medical Center wants to nurture established partnerships as well as foster new relationships. Thank you very much for your interest in the Industry Collaboration Symposium at OSUMC. We hope to see you at our brand new Biomedical Research Tower on December 4, 2006.

Sincerely,
