I am a third-year Primary Care Track student here at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. And so essentially, what that program is, if you know you want to do family medicine like I did from the beginning, and you're very uniquely paired, you apply for this program and it fast tracks you into family medicine. I graduated high school and all I knew is that I wanted a career that helped others, a life that wasn't just about me, but was about making life better for other people. And I thought healthcare in general did a good job of that. So I originally entered college as a pre-PT student, then halfway through my first year of college, I started to think about it more, where I'm like, I'm doing all the same classes, but just the doctors that I had growing up that I knew, I was like, man, they just made such an impact on my life. And PT is such a noble profession too, but the way I thought about it was just, I didn't want to do medicine, because I was scared. I thought it was going to be too hard. And then further I got into college, I was like, "Maybe I'll just give it a try." And then the more I did, the more I shadowed, the more I fell in love with it. So it was a gradual process for me. Once I figured out that I wanted to go into medicine, it was, "Okay, I want to go to Ohio State. I want to stay here." The program is top tier. This is a great medical school. There's every opportunity you could possibly want here at Ohio State. And then it's just close to home. I mean, family's really important to me. The relationships with my friends is very important to me. And then being a two-hour drive from Cleveland really just makes everything seem so much more small and connected. And that was pretty important to me and what I valued in my medical school choice. My best talent is honestly probably just connecting with people, so luckily I think I'm going into something where that's pretty important.
