Shreya: Hi, my name is Shreya. I'm a member of the class of 2029 at the Ohio State University's College of Medicine, and I'm in the CMT program. I think the opportunities at Ohio State are endless. It's so crazy because the building right here is where we study and the hospital is within 10 feet away from us. So any research, any shadowing, any connections, anything that you could possibly imagine and that you think you might be interested in is literally in our backyard. And I think that Ohio State offers that and is a very unique thing specific to Ohio State.

My grandparents back in India grew up in a pretty rural town and I saw that they would often have to drive over an hour for basic appointments. And I think that had a huge impact on me. I also volunteered at a free clinic throughout undergrad where we had a lot of patients from different rural populations of Ohio travel long distances to receive basic healthcare. And I think the idea of meeting the patient halfway and going to them rather than them coming to you during their sickness was very impactful and that's why I chose the CMT track.
