Warner, MD: So tonight, we're excited to recognize our award winners who represent the very best in our community, not only what they do, but how they do it. Because of you, our learners are better prepared, our high impact discoveries are changing lives, and our patients and families are receiving the care and compassion they deserve. [Text on screen: Amy M. Moore, MD, FACS Interim Dean College of Medicine] Amy M. Moore, MD, FACS: This is how we serve our communities and our future. We do this by serving each other with integrity and excellence in every day. They're quietly making extraordinary things happen every day in the world of medicine. [Text on screen: Scott Holliday, MD Lifetime Achievement in Education Award recipient] Scott Holliday, MD: It feels great to get the lifetime achievement award in education. I think a lot of our work in education is done kind of behind the scenes and not necessarily in front of the camera. And so being able to give people an opportunity to get a lot of recognition and respect is a great opportunity. [Text on screen: Lisa Di Tommaso, MS, RD Distinguished Staff Award recipient] Lisa Di Tommaso, MS, RD: I'm a graduate of Ohio State twice and have been working here for over 20 years, and to be recognized for my efforts and just being part of HRS, it's an honor. [Text on screen: Jeffrey Janis, MD, FACS Distinguished Professor Award recipient] Jeffrey Janis, MD, FACS: I'm very grateful for the opportunity to be part of an amazing group of people and the people who came before me and the people who will come after me. I'm proud to be a plastic surgeon and proud to be recognized for the innovation that we bring to the table. [Text on screen: Candice Askwith, PhD Excellence Award for Team Science Research recipient] Candice Askwith, PhD: I'm very honored by this award and I like this idea that we're rewarding people at OSU that are doing team science as it relates to research. I really get a lot of satisfaction from helping people, both supporting junior investigators as they're moving towards and getting their grants, supporting large collaborative projects. [Text on screen: Avraham Cooper, MD Distinguished Clinical Science Educator Award recipient] Avraham Cooper, MD: I've known that I wanted to be an educator for a long time and it's been a long journey to get to this point in my career. I love seeing that light bulb sort of pop on when a learner you're working with understands something for the first time and the complex concept that you've distilled for them. Candice Askwith, PhD: If anyone's even thinking about nominating a colleague, they should just nominate. Just even knowing that someone's out there saying "I think you should get this award" or "I think you should do this," it really means a lot. Amy M. Moore, MD, FACS: On behalf of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, we're deeply grateful for the work you do.
