Elizabeth Buschur, MD  Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism    Caring for pregnant women with diabetes and caring for our emerging adults with diabetes are two of the major focuses of the DMRC. So, the transition of our teenagers with diabetes and our emerging adults is really a difficult time if you can remember back to that time in your own life. There's so much going on so, so much excitement, so much changing that it's hard to have any chronic disease. But especially diabetes. I see these patients at Nationwide Children's Hospital and then they tend to be referred to Ohio State to see myself or one of our endocrinologists here.    Matthew Ringel, MD  Director, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism    It really what we've done would not be possible without a group of people coming together from leadership to say, you know, this is important, this is a large percentage of our patients and is an increasing population, that's really important for us to be a leader, in both the clinical care as well as the research and education for those patients as well as the next generation of providers. But the new discovery part is really important here as well because we haven't cured diabetes yet and it's very important that as a major research university as well that we're doing the type of science and research that's going to cross that bridge to really enable, hopefully the next generations of patients to have to have the concept of a cure be part of their lives.  [Text on screen For more information, visit medicine.osu.edu]
